MHN and its subsidiaries are committed to maintaining member privacy and protecting sensitive health information. To that end, we’ve launched a Secure Messaging Center exclusively for communications about confidential financial and business matters as well as legislatively defined Protected Health Information (PHI). For example, you can use the Secure Messaging Center to communicate about topics such as benefit payments, medical conditions, treatment, claims status and behavioral health issues.

Users who have registered on the member website (members.mhn.com), provider portal (www.mhn.com/provider/start.do) or government services website (www.mhngs.com) are automatically given a Secure Messaging Center account.

What is secure messaging?

Information communicated via MHN’s Secure Messaging Center is encrypted – or locked -- to make it unrecognizable to unauthorized parties. Your username and password work as a key to unlock the message so that you can communicate with MHN or its subsidiaries on a secure channel. Our Secure Messaging Center uses encryption to safeguard electronic communication in compliance with corporate information security standards and federal, state and local laws.

What security measures do MHN and its subsidiaries use to keep messages confidential?

We know how important security is to you, which is why our Secure Messaging Center includes several features to keep your communication private.

To access your Secure Messaging Center account, you must enter the username and password you use to log in to the member website, provider portal or government services website.

As a security measure, three failed attempts to enter your password correctly will result in your account being locked. (Please check your spelling and the “caps lock” key after one failed attempt.) If you are unable to access your account, please contact our customer support team:

How can I get a secure messaging account?

You must register on the member website (www.members.mhn.com), provider portal (www.mhn.com/provider/start.do) or government services website (www.mhngs.com). Registered users are given a secure messaging account.

Are there any restrictions on how I can use my Secure Messaging Center account?

Yes. If you attempt to send an email to a non-MHN account, your email may not pass through the email security filter and may result in termination of your account. Please note that secure messages are retained by MHN and its subsidiaries for audit purposes.
